Save the date - our Open House will run from 4:30 to 5:30 Wednesday, September 18. Homeroom teachers will be presenting information about EDSBY, new reporting periods and procedures, programming, classroom expectations and procedures, at the following times in their classrooms:

Did you know that you can recycle markers, pens and mechanical pencils at Staples? All brands of pens and pen caps, mechanical pencils, markers and marker caps, highlighters and highlighter caps, permanent markers and permanent marker caps are accepted through the TerraCycle program. Feel free to drop off your used writing instruments at Staples, or drop them off in the collection box at the school.

Our school’s Scholastic Book Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21.
Your investment in your reader helps our whole school. All purchases earn Scholastic Dollars that can be redeemed for books and educational resources for our school’s classrooms and library.

The students in grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to spend the day curling at the Callie Curling Club on February 7th, February 27th, and March 19th. If you would like to volunteer to help on the ice with instruction of small groups of students or off the ice with helping with helmets and other equipment or serving lunch, please let the school know. We are also looking for someone who is able to fit hockey helmets for students prior to February 7th. Volunteers may join us for part of a day, one, two or all the days at the Callie. All volunteers will need a criminal record check with the vulnerable sector check.

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) has announced the resumption of job action. This will include the province-wide removal of noon-hour supervision by STF members for one day on Friday, February 16.

Please see attached for advertising for the Gr. 8 Parent Orientation Meeting on February 8th.

The Grade 5-8 students will be selling bags of popcorn on Tuesday, February 6th for $2 per bag. They are raising funds for an upcoming field trip.

Students from K-2 and Gr. 5/6 will have the opportunity to purchase a bag of popcorn at first recess, and students in Gr. 3/4 and Gr. 7/8 will have the opportunity to purchase a bag of popcorn at the last recess.

Family Literacy Day 2024 Theme: Let’s have a family party!
Celebrate 25 years of Family Literacy Day and learning together as a family by having a party!
Make food, sing songs, and play games. The possibilities for learning are endless – and it’s fun when you do it together.


Celebrate Family Literacy Day 2024 Virtually with Honorary Chair Barbara Reid!
Barbara will be doing a demonstration on how to use clay to create a picture. She will share unique techniques you can use to make different things. The event will end with a Q&A.

This event is ideal for families with children in grades 1 to 6.

There will be no kindergarten on Monday, December 18 or Wednesday, December 20, but there will be on Tuesday, December 19 and Thursday, December 21. The change in the kindergarten days the last week of school in December will allow the Kindergartens to attend the Christmas concert on the 19th and our whole-school pancake breakfast and special seasonal activities on last day before the break.
